Required documents:
Personal expression of interest together with the application. The applicant’s statement may not exceed 350 words per question.
The statement must include:
- How the scholarship will change the applicant’s life.
- How does the applicant intend to use your qualifications for your future and how will the scholarship help you?
- Address the challenges facing your home country.
- Explain how you would support the values of social justice and environmental stewardship.
Eligibility criteria
The applicant must have an offer to study a full-time Masters course at one of UAL’s colleges and institutes starting in 2024/25.
- Your course must offer a Grad Dip, M ARCH, MA, MFA, MBA, MRes or MSc qualification.
- You are not eligible to apply if you already have a UK postgraduate teaching qualification (or a qualification at an equivalent level) from studies undertaken in the UK or abroad.
They must be habitually resident in one of the low-income countries listed in our list of eligible countries (see below).
- Your application must include proof such as a copy of your immigration documents, ID or formal proof of your address.
Or
- You are an asylum seeker in the UK at the time you apply for the scholarship.
- At the time of application, your annual household income must be £50,000 or less (or the equivalent exchange value in the relevant country’s currency). For up-to-date currency conversion, visit Oanda Trade Currency Exchange.

Once you have received an offer to study at UAL, the ‘my funding’ page on your applicant portal will be updated to include the scholarship application forms you may be eligible for.
